Kerala PSC invites application for the post of Assistants and Computer Assistants in various universities of Kerala. First notification of these posts will be published in Kerala Gazette on 26th March 2016. Candidates can apply online for these posts through Kerala Public Service Commission Website from 2016 March 26. Last date of application will be 27th April 2016. Exam for University Assistant post will be conducted on 24 May 2016. Exam for computer Assistant post will be conduted on 26 May 2016.

Rs13900-24040 (prior to revision)

Qualification and Age Limit for University Assistants

Qualification: Degree

Age: 18-36 (Date of Birth Between 02-01-1980 and 01-01-1998 both dates inclusive)

For SC/ST candidates: 5 years of age relaxation

For OBC Candidates: 3 years of age relaxation

Rs 10480-18300 (prior to revision)

Qualification and Age Limit for Computer Assistants

Qualification: A pass in SSLC, Typewriting - English Higher, Typewriting - Malayalam Lower, Computer Word Processing

Age:18-36 (Date of Birth between 02-01-1980 and 01-01-1998 both dates inclusive)

For SC/ST Candidates: 5 years of age relaxation

For OBC Candidates: 3 years of age relaxation

For the post of University assistants, PSC is expecting 1500 vacancies and that of computer assistants 500 vacancies are expected. As for now a complete list of vacancies are not reported to PSC. CUSAT reports 30 vacancies of the post of Assistants and 21 vacancies for Computer Assistants post. Agricultural University reports 67 vacancies for the post of assistants. M.G. university reports 98 vacancies for assistants post. Other universities are also having vacancies.

PSC has decided to complete certificate verification by August 2016. Rank List will be published in September 2016. Six lakh applications are expected for the post of University Assistants and One Lakh expected for Computer Assistant Post.

Appointment order will be given by University registrars. Those who are selected in Assistant post should pass Secretariat Manual and Accounts test. Probation period for selected candidates will be two years.

Syllabus for University Assistant Exam

The selection of candidates will be based on a PSC Competitive Exam. Exam will be conduted on 24 May 2016. The medium of exam will be English. Duration is for 75 minutes. There will be 100 questions for 100 marks. All the questions will be of objective type. Each question carries one mark. There will be negative mark for wrong answers. 0.33 marks will be deducted for each wrong answer.

Expected syllabus for PSC University Assistant (This is the present PSC Degree Level Exam Syllabus).

There will be 10 topics for 10 marks each for the exam. Decision on including Malayalam Language in Topics is not confirmed yet.
